Obituary for Randy Sour

Randall "Randy" Sour, age 69, of Watertown, SD passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at his residence.

PLEASE NOTE DATE: Family and friends are requested to meet at the Hayti Fire Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 and then will process to the cemetery for the Military Honors.
Military Honors will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. by the Vietnam Veterans of America Northeast South Dakota Chapter 1054 and Patriot Guard Riders of Watertown at New Hope Cemetery, rural Hayti, SD.

The family requests no floral condolences at this time.

Randy was buried at New Hope Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hayti, SD on April 22, 2020.

Randall (Randy) Lee Sour was born on July 13, 1950 to Glen and Hattie (Eggen) Sour in Watertown, SD.
He grew up in and graduated high school from Hayti, SD. After graduation, Randy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served until his discharge in 1971.

Randy was married once to Bonnie R. Noem in Watertown, SD on July 13, 1978. Together, they had one daughter, Brandi Jo. Randy spent several years working on the road building grain bins. Unfortunately, Randy’s epilepsy prevented him from continuing to work. He spent the rest of his life as a disabled veteran and became involved in his community in other ways. Randy was an active member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 1054 and Marine Corps League Detachment 1079.

Randy was proud to be a father to his daughter Brandi and was able to walk her down the aisle at her wedding in 2015. He also enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews and other extended family. Randy was a proud veteran who volunteered at many functions and spent as much time as he could with fellow veterans.

Randy is survived by his daughter Brandi (Matt) Havlik of Sioux Falls, SD; brother James Sour of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law Phyllis Sour of Rapid City, SD; nieces Chris (Chad) Noem of Lake Norden, SD, Cheryl (Chris) Hansen of Madison, SD, and Rochelle (Brett) Schmidt of Willow Lake, SD; nephew Eric (Kimberly) Sour of Rapid City, SD.

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Glen O. Sour, his mother, Hattie E. (Eggen) Sour, and his brother Courtney (Corky) Sour.
