Richard "Rich" DeWayne Whitlock October 29, 1934 - November 16, 2018    Richard D. “Rich” “Pappy” Whitlock, 84, of Watertown, SD, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Dr. Charles Warger officiating. 

Visitation will be 5 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2018 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown with Military Honors by the US Air Force from Rapid City and American Legion Post 17 from Watertown.

Pallbearers will be Matthew and Tyler Whitlock, Malcolm Farley, Blake, Mike and Jacob Whitlock.  Richard

DeWayne Whitlock was born October 29, 1934 to William and Wilma (Fryburger) Whitlock in Bradley, South Dakota where he attended school as well.  He served in the United States Air Force from April 1955 until he was honorably discharged December 1975.

Richard worked at Terex for 20 years, retiring in 1997.  He then enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family, attending auto racing, and watching and working on his grandson’s race car. Richard is survived by his wife, Romona; his children, Roberta Whitlock, Randy (Kryn) Whitlock, Roxane Farley and Rick Whitlock; and two brothers, Dennis and Robert Whitlock; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Russell and Ronald Whitlock; his two brothers, William and Donald Whitlock; three sisters, Judy Johnson, Lela Tarbox and Alene Whitlock; and one grandson, Pat Whitlock.
