Obituary for Robert M. "Bob" Fischbach

Robert “Bob” Fischbach, 71, of Watertown, SD, passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Prairie Lakes Hospital.

Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 at Holy Names of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown with Fr. Michael Wensing as celebrant. Kari Anderson will be the soloist accompanied by Laura Atwood.

Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. rosary, on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watertown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Alexis, Madison, Annika, Olivia, Ashley, Evie, Ellison, Griffin, Megan and Samantha.

Active Pallbearers will be Adam Fischbach, Scott Pederson, Nathan Noeldner, Justin Stanley, Jacob Pederson, Quintin Hubbeling and Nick Noeldner.

Robert was born on December 25, 1947 to Roland A. and Loretta E. (DeVille) Fischbach in Watertown, South Dakota, where he grew up. Bob graduated from Watertown High School.

He married Gerri Tschakert on September 5, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Florence, South Dakota. The couple had four daughters.

Bob was employed at Minnesota Rubber as a Journeyman-machinist for 45 years.

He was a member of the Machinist Union Lodge #2357 for 45 years; and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Bob loved his girls and grandchildren and attending their activities. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing, as well as riding his Harley and attending the Sturgis Rally. He never lost his faith in his Cleveland Browns!

Bob was the rock and the glue of his family. He tried to keep everyone together and made sure everyone was included.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Christine (Scott) Pederson and children, Jacob and Annika of Glenwood, MN, Stacy (Nathan) Noeldner and children, Alexis (Alex Kindopp), Madison and Nick of Watertown, SD, Angie (Justin) Stanley and children, Olivia and Ashley of Watertown, SD and Kim Fischbach and son, Quintin Hubbeling of Mitchell, SD; his brother, Darwin (Cheryl) Fischbach of Watertown, SD; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Loretta; his grandparents, Matthew and Emma DeVille, and Henry and Mary Fischbach.
