Sharon K. Hanson, 58, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

A public prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Hank Roso officiating.

Visitation will follow from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral chapel. Sharon Kay Hanson was born on April 13, 1960 to Roger and Frances (Kinnon) West in Watertown, SD. She grew up in the Watertown area and attended school in Watertown. She married Randy Hanson on April 1, 1978. To this union two daughters, Kristy and Stacy were born.

Sharon worked most of her adult years in housekeeping at various hotels and care centers where she enjoyed talking to the residents. Sharon also enjoyed drawing, reading romance novels, watching football and Nascar and collecting sports memorabilia. Sasha, her cat was her fur baby and she loved spoiling her.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Kristy (Marty) Bell and their children, Damien, Jaydon and Chloe Bell of Watertown and her daughter, Stacy Hanson (Kayla Redinger) of Watertown; six sisters, Tami (Al) Koistinen of Watertown, Cheryl Stetson of Sioux Falls, Lora Cassidy of Rapid City, Darci Stevens of Sioux Falls, Diane Krause, and Joyce West of Oregon; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Rodney West, Kenneth (Peggy) West, James West and James Krause; and her nephew, Mark Novy.
