Obituary for Shyrlee "Shy" Raml
Shyrlee Raml, 68, of Watertown, SD, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her residence.
Memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Pastor John Miles officiating and music by Bryon Dahle.
Honorary groups will be all nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and all Terex Utilities co-workers.
Urnbearer will be Joe Dailey.
Shyrlee Jean Raml was born June 9, 1950 in Clear Lake, SD to Albert A. Winter (birth father) and Margaret C. Prange. Shyrlee was adopted by her stepfather, William F. Walter in 1964. She grew up in Clear Lake/Watertown where she attended Rural District 60 and then the family moved to Watertown in 1968 where she graduated from Watertown High School. She married James Raml on April 12, 1969 in Watertown. The couple divorced in 1992. Shyrlee was a computer operator and had been employed at Midland National life Insurance Company, McGladry Hendrickson and Terex from 1985 to 2015.
Shyrlee enjoyed her grandchildren, camping, bonfires, water skiing, motorcycling and dancing, along with knitting, crocheting, cats and dogs, sledding and Christmas. Shyrlee is survived by her children, Lori Raml of Watertown, SD and Jerod (Amanda) Raml of Florence, SD; her siblings, Lillian Johnson of Madison, MN, Bonnie (Mike) Dailey of Watertown, SD and Vicki (Gordy) Fleming of Deshler, NE; her in-laws, Helen Schmidt, Mary Wegner and Rick Raml all of Watertown, SD; four grandchildren, Kristina and Spencer Booze and Cody and Maggie Raml; four step-grandchildren, Steven Walker, Danielle, Ryer and Colton Vig; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; her sister, Judy (and husband, Dick) O'Neil; brother-in-law, Lars Johnson; nephews, Cody Dailey and Ryan Kolden; and niece, Carrie Johnson.
