Obituary for Sonja LaVonne Johnson
Sonja L. Johnson, age 78, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m., with visitation for one hour prior to the service on Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Pastor Janet Miller officiating.
Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD.
Pallbearers will be Farrell, Ardel, and Jayme Reihe and Merlin Madoll.
Sonja LaVonne Johnson was born to Melvin and Sylvia (Reyerson) Madoll on March 31, 1943 in Hansonville Township, MN. She attended school in Canby and graduated from Canby High School. On August 4, 1962 she married Clarence Reihe, Jr. and the couple lived the majority of their married life in Watertown, SD. They had five children. Clarence passed away in 2003.
Sonja later married Glenn Johnson and the couple lived in Watertown. Sonja worked in manufacturing for over 20 years in Watertown. Glenn passed away in 2019.
Sonja enjoyed painting, traveling, dancing and playing shuffleboard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Clarence, her second husband Glenn, her brother Eugene "Genie" Madoll, and her nieces Sandy Weyer and Brandy Madoll.
Sonja is survived by her children, Marlo Reihe, Farrell Reihe, Ardel Reihe, Deana O'Gorman and Jayme; seven grandchildren; her siblings, Dewayne (Cleo) Madoll, Sharon Pearson, Lowell (Linda) Madoll, and Merlin (Karen) Madoll; her sister-in-law, Barb Madoll; and her nieces and nephews.
