Obituary for Stanley J. Wagner
Stanley Wagner, age 74 of Watertown, SD passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022.
Graveside services will be 1:30 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Watertown with Father Richard Fox presiding.
Stanley James Wagner was born May 7, 1948 in Watertown, South Dakota to Walter “Pug” and Emma (Donkersgode) Wagner. He grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School. He attended St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland for one year.
He was a musician who played the drums and xylophone for several bands in Los Angeles, Minneapolis and Watertown. Stanley wrote music on his computer for the past 10-15 years. He drove cabs and school buses throughout his life as well.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed hiking, geography, philosophy, theology and history.
Stanley is survived by his brothers, Robert (Carol) Wagner of Watertown, SD, Joe Wagner of Fairbanks, AK and David Wagner of Watertown, SD; four nieces and nephews; and three great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard, John and Bill; and his sister, Mary Jo.
