Obituary for Teresa Francis Miller

Teresa F. Miller, age 85, of Watertown, SD, passed away surrounded by family, on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Jenkins Living Center.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Richard Fox as celebrant.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., with a scripture service at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 17th, at the Immaculate Conception Church.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Watertown, SD.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Teresa's granddaughters: Mandy Lentz, Sarah Miller, Renee Luckhurst, Theresa Hoffman and Nicole Smith.

Active Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jake, Joey, Mitch and Matt Miller, Mike, Dan and Andrew Towle, Phillip Hoffman, Elijah and Dalton Miller and Cody Fransen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be designated to Prairie Lakes Hospice, 401 9th Ave. NW, Watertown, SD 57201.

Teresa Francis Miller was born to Marcus and Catherine (Friedel) Lantsberger on October 13, 1934 in Castlewood where she also grew up and attended school. In her senior year she transferred to St. Agatha Catholic High School and graduated in 1952.

On November 3, 1954 she married Luvern Joseph Miller at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Together they raised six children, Deborah, Louise, Thomas, Daniel, Mark and David.

Teresa enjoyed being a homemaker, making meals and working on the farm. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir, square dancing, cards and bowling. Teresa loved spending time with family and friends and was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teresa also worked at many area businesses in the community.

Teresa is survived by her children, Louise Towle, Thomas (Robin) Miller, Daniel (Melanie) Miller, Mark (Kim) Miller and David (Karri) Miller all of Watertown; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, James Hoffman of Watertown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Luvern of 64 years; her daughter, Deborah Hoffman; her granddaughter, Micca Deawan; a son-in-law, Pat Towle; five brothers, Walter, Louis, Ambrose, Bernard and Leo Lantsberger; and one sister, Elizabeth Brandriet.
