Obituary for Theodore "Ted" Moe

Theodore “Ted” Moe, age 70 of Watertown, SD passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 near Sturgis, SD from a tragic motorcycle accident.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 with visitation at 1:00 pm and services at 2:00 pm at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown.

Urn bearers will be Ted's five grandchildren.

Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

The family requests memorials to be donated to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 2001 2nd St. NW, Watertown, SD 57201.

Ted was born August 26, 1950 to Charles and Ramona Moe.

Ted graduated from Bradley High School in 1968. On March 14, 1970 Ted married his high school sweetheart, Kay Hemmingson. From a young age of 17, Ted started farming and grew his passion into owning and operating farms in the Wallace, Florence, Watertown, Isabel, SD and McGregor, MN areas along with T-K Trucking and Shoot Roosters Hunting Lodge. He was an experienced pilot and a mechanic who could fix almost anything. He enjoyed going to auction sales and swap meets.

Ted enjoyed a lifetime of love with Kay raising their two daughters, spending time with their five grandchildren, family and long time friends. Ted and Kay also enjoyed dancing together, motorcycling, cruising in their hot rods and traveling in the RV spending winters in Florida.

One of Ted's highlights was Friday morning breakfasts before school with his grandchildren for many years along with hunting and fishing with family.

Left to cherish Ted's memory are his wife, Kay; his two daughters, Angela (Jim) Czech and children, Theodore, Samuel and Andrew; and Tyanne (Paul) Luken and children, Kate, Ava and Missy (Dustin) Sinner; mother, Ramona Moe Ustrud; and brother, Richard (Nancy) Moe all of Watertown, SD.

Ted is preceded in death by his father Charles Moe, and his stepfather Jerome Ustrud.
