Thomas James Lohr was born April 23, 1953 in Watertown, South Dakota to Merle J. and Arlene (Mack) Lohr. He grew up in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 1971. Tom went to work for the National Brotherhood of Electrical Worker’s – Local 426 as a Lineman for many years.

He married Linda Walburg. The couple welcomed two children, Nicholle and Chad.

Tom then worked for the Watertown School District retiring after 32 years of service.

Tom loved attending sports events to watch his grandchildren, as well as teaching them to fish, trap and hunt. He always said “I’m amazed what they have accomplished early in life!”

Tom had a huge passion for black Labrador dogs, which he owned and hunted with his whole life. He also enjoyed fishing and trapping. One of his greatest enjoyments was fishing and trapping in the northeast county streams and creeks. Tom and Linda also had a bait shop and deer hide business at their home.
He was a past member of the Trapper’s Associations both in-state and out-of-state. Over the years Tom and Linda traveled to many Trappers Conventions where they made many good friends.

Tom and Linda enjoyed raising a very large garden and spending many summer days canning and freezing produce for the entire family. Tom grew bright red geraniums from seed and enjoyed giving them away. He was also fond of collecting antiques and going to rummage and auction sales.

Tom is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicolle and Darwin Maag of Watertown; and his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kari Lohr of Watertown; four grandchildren, Blake Lohr of AZ, Abby Maag, Gage Lohr and Brody Lohr all of Watertown; his two brothers, Ron and Wendy Lohr of Watertown and Terry Lohr of Lawson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
