Obituary for Vera A. "Tootie" Stahl
Vera "Tootie" Stahl, age 89, of Estelline and formerly of Watertown, SD passed away August 17, 2022 in Estelline.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Monday, August 22, 2022, with a one hour visitation prior, at Hamlin Reformed Church, rural Castlewood, SD. Pastor Steve Biswell will officiate with Karen Jongeling as the organist.
Interment will be at Hamlin Reformed Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Kruiter, Robert Hawley, Kevin Kruiter, Jason Tvedt, Chad Schiernbeck and Todd Byer.
Vera Ann Stahl was born November 27, 1932 to John and Minnie (TeBeest) Stahl in Castlewood, South Dakota. She grew up in the Castlewood and Dempster area where she completed the eighth grade. Vera was a member of the Hamlin Reformed Church.
She worked at grocery stores in Estelline, Brookings, and Watertown. She then worked at Shopko until she retired.
Vera is survived by her two brothers, Donald (Elaine) Stahl of Oregon City, OR, Duane (Ruth) Stahl Estelline, SD; her sister, Janice Schiernbeck of Castlewood, SD; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Violet (William) Tone and Phyllis (Ben) Kruiter and brother-in-law, Robert Schiernbeck.
