Bill received his first educational years at Gary. From there he graduated from Dakota State (General Beadle) at Madison, SD, and later graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. Bill was united in marriage to Judy Berg on October 14, 1967 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Kranzburg. To this union they were blessed with five children. With the help of his children he was able to run a fishing charter business in Valdez, AK.
Bill always wanted to be a farmer, so when he moved back to SD he started gardening. For some reason his garden grew larger each year. He loved to share his produce. He also loved fishing, hunting, gardening and collectibles.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy of 53 years; his children, Wendy (Ron) Langseth, Valdez, AK, Kristie (Doug) Cranor, Valdez, AK, Josh (Sarah) Kennedy, Grand Junction, CO, and Ben (Kristen) Kennedy, Central Point, OR; six granddaughters, Aleshia Cranor, Valdez, AK, Zoe and Linnea Langseth, Valdez, AK, Peyton, Kinley and Elsie Kennedy, Central Point, OR; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Kennedy, Anchorage, AK, Joyce Berg, Watertown, SD, and Connie Fogel, Sioux Falls, SD; one brother-in-law, Richard Berg, Castlewood, SD; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Carmen Kennedy-Sumner, parents Tom and Lorraine Kennedy, brother Victor Kennedy, his parents-in-law Vince and Esther Berg, three brothers-in-law Larry, Doug and Jim Berg.
Bill's loving, caring and positive attitude is deeply missed.
