Richard “Doyle” Magee, the son of Richard Arnold and Frieda (Wolfe) Magee, was born September 12, 1964 in Bismarck, North Dakota. He grew up in Watertown, and attended (SDSBVI) South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, graduating in 1981. Doyle worked at New Horizons and also at various businesses around Watertown.

Doyle’s nieces and nephews were very important to him and he enjoyed their sports events, as well as attending the Arrow and Hamlin basketball and football games; he had a love of animals and seemed to have a special connection to them. He also enjoyed attending family events, hunting, fishing, camping, shopping and listening to music.

Doyle is survived by his mother, Frieda; his siblings, Myron (Boonyuen) Magee, Rhonda (Rick) Letze and Bruce (Georgia) Magee all of Watertown, SD; many nieces and nephews; and his great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Magee.

I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys-
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief -
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee -
God wanted me now; He set me free.
